Living on a soggy island does have its advantages. One of these is that, when the weather decides to play nice, we appreciate the sunshine. Actually, appreciate might be a rather British understatement. We bask in it. We marvel at it and drink, soak, lap up every minute of it. Even when the temperature is close to freezing, sunny days bring us out in droves.
Last weekend was a perfect example. Two days of beautiful crisp autumn air, glorious sun shining on red, yellow and orange leaves. And, nestled in the breathtaking Oxfordshire countryside, a perfect English garden hosting an apple festival to help us all celebrate the wonders of Nature and her bounty.
